About Truck Fleet Services

Welcome to our fleet maintenance family.

Experience
like no other company
IN SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AND THROUGHOUT THE MIDWEST

Truck Fleet Services LLC and Truck Fleet Management Services Inc. have an experienced foundation in the truck maintenance industry like no other company in southeastern Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.

The majority owner partnership of Pete Hirt Sr. and John Rohatsch have been in the trucking industry for over 100 years combined.  Pete Hirt started his career as an apprentice truck mechanic in 1962.  John Rohatsch was a CPA working for a big eight accounting firm, and began his industry career when he was hired to be the controller of a trucking transportation group in 1971.  The two of them have been colleagues and friends for over 40 years.  With Pete’s vast fleet maintenance and equipment knowledge, and John’s business and financial prowess, it was a well-designed diverse and sustainable professional partnership from the beginning.

As the trucking industry changed over the years, their company vision did as well.  In 2004 they both left their respective jobs to focus their industry knowledge to support other companies’ fleets as contract maintenance specialists.  Rather than maintain their own fleet, they saw great potential and opportunity in reaching out to other companies to maintain their equipment and provide industry wisdom and experience to improve their customers’ transportation abilities.  By providing a great service at a competitive price, they have been succeeding as maintenance partners with some of the Midwest’s finest trucking fleets in seven different locations.

Truck Fleet Services LLC, began in 1995 and Truck Fleet Management Services Inc. started in 2002.  As two distinct companies, Truck Fleet Services and Truck Fleet Management possess the ability to offer a more diverse set of offerings to meet the needs of a diverse industry.

Pete and John brought on minority ownership partners of Scott Bartlein and John Heiden in 2006.  Scott had begun his career as an apprentice truck mechanic in 1979, and John started in the shop as a mechanic at the Milwaukee Journal in 1979.  As they took on their new roles of fleet managers of Truck Fleet, Scott and John both brought their skills and abundant knowledge and experience to usher in a new generation of contract maintenance at Truck Fleet Services.  The two of them now nurture and oversee the major account partnerships with our customers.

Servicing customers in
dairy, grocery, package
delivery, steel, flat bed,
dry goods, construction,
utilities, and specialty
operations

The Truck Fleet family customer base is very diverse, from customers with one truck to fleets with hundreds of units. Truck Fleet services customers in dairy, grocery, package delivery, steel, flat bed, dry goods, construction, utilities, and specialty operations. All of the customers have one thing in common; they need fast and reliable vehicle service and maintenance. Equipment down time is costly. Unlike leasing companies or truck dealerships, TFS and TFMS treat our customer’s equipment with the same care and respect as we would our own. We service all makes and models and strive to hold costs down.

TFS and TFMS runs Enrich software in conjunction with VMRS 2000 for all record keeping and OEM diagnostic software for equipment. We can create custom reports through our computer system to allow our customers the ability to see unit histories, costs, work orders, invoices, and custom reporting. These reports can also be saved in Excel for more flexibility. We are also familiar with procedures to translate and merge our software data with your company’s programs.

TFS and TFMS employs over 40 mechanics, many whom are ASE, air conditioning, and lift gate certified.  We believe in the continuing education for our mechanics and strive to keep their skills on the leading edge of technology. We have a full time purchasing/management staff dedicated to finding parts fast and at the best price possible. TFS and TFMS are active members and supporters of TMC – Technology and Maintenance Council, The Fleet Maintenance Council of Southeast Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Motor Carriers.
